This drill is designed to make you a consistent three-point threat from every spot on the floor. By rotating through five positions on the three-point arc, you develop muscle memory for each unique shooting angle. NBA sharpshooters like Klay Thompson and Ray Allen were known for this type of repetitive spot-up work. The key is to simulate game-speed catch-and-shoot situations.
Set up at the right corner three-point line
Shoot 10 three-pointers from that spot, tracking makes
Move to the right wing (45-degree angle)
Shoot 10 from the wing, focusing on footwork alignment
Move to the top of the key
Shoot 10 from the top, squaring shoulders to the basket
Move to the left wing, then left corner (10 each)
Record your totals — aim for 30/50 (60%) minimum
Use a consistent shooting routine: catch, dip, rise, release
Keep your elbow tucked under the ball, not flared out
Follow through — hold your release until the ball hits the rim
If shooting alone, pass to yourself using backspin off the floor
