The Trade Evaluator assigns a value score to each player based on their statistical production and age. Younger players are weighted more heavily because they have more peak years ahead. The tool then compares the total value exchanged by each side and assigns letter grades based on the difference.
Grades range from A+ (team clearly wins the trade) through C (fair trade) to F (team significantly loses). Factors considered include scoring, playmaking, rebounding, defensive stats, shooting efficiency, and age-adjusted potential. Add multiple players to each side for complex multi-player deals.
Player value uses a weighted combination of per-game stats with multipliers for each category. Steals and blocks carry higher weights due to their rarity. An age factor then adjusts the score, rewarding younger players with a premium.
Each side gets a grade reflecting how good the trade is for them. A+ means they're getting significantly more value than they give up. C is a roughly fair swap. F means they're losing substantial value.
